RC21 Conference and Summer School

Research Committee 21 on Sociology of Urban and Regional Development of the International Sociological Association was established in 1970 to promote theory and research in the sociology of urban and regional development, and – in so doing – create an international community of scholars who will advance the field.

Since 2011, it helds an annual conference on critical urban studies and the 2017 call for papers, on the theme of “Rethinking urban global justice”, is currently out! For full details visit the Conference Website.

And, what is more, The Research Committee 21 (RC21) of the International Sociology Association, the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research (IJURR), the Foundation for Urban and Regional Studies (FURS), University College London (Bartlett School of Planning) and Leeds University (Sociology/Geography) invite applications for 25 places on fifth collaborative School on Comparative Urban Studies, to be held in London and Leeds (UK) from August 30 to September 13 2017. The School is being held in conjunction with the RC21 Conference to be held on September 11-13, 2017.
